Herbert Terry 1227 Scumble

Herbert Terry 1227 Scumble

This timeless classic is a Herbert Terry and Sons 1227 lamp. This lamp has been electrically restored using a high-quality, 3-core braided fabric cable. Complete with safety bayonet bulb holder and low energy bulb.

This particular lamp is a fine example of the original Herbert Terry Scumble finish and this particular example is one of the best we’ve ever restored!

This lamp comes complete with a low-energy LED bulb, a standard British 3-pin plug, and a silver switched bulb holder.

Please study the photos as they form part of the description. There are a few age-related marks that are to be expected with a lamp of its age but you will really struggle to find a better example of the Scumble finish.

History:

First designed by automotive engineer George Carwardine in the 1930's and made by Herbert Terry & Sons in Redditch, England. This lamp is part of the Model 1227 line made between 1938 to 1968 with its distinctive two-tier base and suits any room or interior.
